As part of our LGBTQIA+ Pride Month celebrations, Christ Church of Summit presents a screening of the film, 1946: The Mistranslation That Changed A Culture, on Sunday, June 30 at 12:30pm. The 92-minute documentary takes an in-depth look at how the mistranslation in 1946 of a single word in the Bible – homosexual – created a devastating ripple effect that is still impacting our culture today. Meticulous research, never-before-seen archives, contextual scholarship and meaningful personal stories make 1946: The Mistranslation That Changed A Culture a film that you won’t want to miss. Prior to the screening a few brief remarks will be given, including from the leadership of the newly formed Love & Faith Alliance (LAFA), the first LGBTQIA+ group at Christ Church.  A brief open discuss with follow after the movie with Rev. Chuck Rush.

The film screening will be free and held in the sanctuary of the church.

Christ Church is located at 561 Springfield Ave, Summit, NJ.
