| Position Title: | Music Director/Organist (full-time) |
| Brief Position Description: | Our well-established, thriving music program is seeking an accomplished organist/director who can play for one service each Sunday, direct the Chancel Choir and Bell Choir, oversee the Children's Choirs program (directed by another staff member), direct an emerging Youth Choir, handle the overall organization and administrative duties of the choirs including music selection, scheduling and rehearsals. Playing for and directing special services (Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, large choral works, etc.) is also required. Additional income can be gained from weddings, funerals and private music lessons. Requires knowledge and passion for liturgy and all styles of music; leadership and organizational skills; ability to collaborate with staff and volunteers; strong organ and conducting skills. Christ Church is an Open and Affirmative congregation located half an hour from NYC, affiliated with the UCC and American Baptist Churches. |
