Course: The Great Stories of Genesis 1-11
Instructor: Al Bunis
Dates: Four consecutive Mondays at 7:30pm as follows -- Feb 22, March 1, 8 and 15

You have heard these stories many times: Creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah's Ark, The Tower of Babel.

But have you considered whether these stories accurately describe the world we live in?  That's the "big question" we will explore in this course.  In other words, a key goal is to see if these stories are relevant to our lives today.  Hint…I believe these stories do indeed tell us a great deal about ourselves and our world…and I look forward to exchanging ideas with you!

In the course, we will look closely at these classic narratives.  We will also discuss both how Genesis 1-11 was composed and how it fits with the rest of the Pentateuch (i.e. how it fits into the first five books of the Old Testament).

All are welcome and no expertise is required…although experts are certainly welcome too.  Also note that the course is designed so that it is not a problem if you miss classes.  Below are the topics and scripture for each class (including a link to each text).  And, don't worry….no homework!

Monday Feb 22:  Creation and Fall

Monday March 1: Cain and Abel

Monday March 8: Noah and the Flood

Monday March 15: Tower of Babel
