Here is today’s Sunday school schedule: 2-3 year olds – Room B-202 Pre-K & K – Room B-203 1st - 5th graders – Barnwell Hall 6th & 7th graders – Lile Hall 8th - 12th graders – Stay in Worship Lile Hall Concert on Oct. 24: Join us for the first Lile Hall concert of the season on Saturday, Oct. 24th at 8:00 p.m.! The Chatham-Wood Duo will be joined by soprano Christine Howlett for a program of violin, soprano and piano music by composers Debussy, Fauré, Haskins, Clarke and premières of two pieces written for the ensemble by Richard Wilson and Tarik O'Regan. Tickets are $15 ($5 students) at the door and include a wine reception at intermission. Please bring your friends! Children’s Choirs: The Genesis Choir will not rehearse again until November 22nd. Sunday, November 1st – Money is due for the Youth Retreat on January 22-24 at Camp Bernie! 7th -12th graders are invited! It costs $130 per person (which includes 2 nights, 5 meals and all programming). They have a climbing wall, crafts, snow tubing (depending on the weather), hiking, low ropes, etc. Please email to sign up or if you are interested in chaperoning. Next Saturday, October 24th from 3:30-7:00 the high school youth are invited to participate in a Bridges Outreach High School Conference on “Teens Tackling Homelessness.” It is held at Christ Church and there will be several interesting “break out” sessions. If your teen is interested, you can register online at http://www.bridgesoutreach.net/newsletters.php. Come out and learn how to “tackle” homelessness in our area! All Summit residents are invited to bring unwanted, reusable items to the Summit Free Market Fall Event hosted on Saturday, November 7 and 14 from 8 am – 4 pm at the City of Summit Transfer Station located on New Providence Avenue. This exchange is completely free, convenient, and aids the environment as it helps avoid throwing away reusable items destined for a landfill. – The Summit Free Market is 100% free and non-commercial. About the Summit Free Market: The Summit Free Market concept was first formulated by a group of dedicated, environmentally conscious students ranging from grades sixth to twelve, each enrolled in both local public schools and area private schools. With the guidance of adult mentors and volunteer professionals, the Summit Free Market has become an initiative focused on bettering our environment through involving the local community. What Items May I Share? Appliances and electronic devices (in working condition), furniture, toys, sports equipment, books, kitchen items, collectibles . . . to name a few.
