We receive this child as a new person in Christ. We offer our understanding and support as he explores life. We enfold him in our love, seeking together to grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and all people. We join with Elizabeth and Chad in telling the Gospel in our midst, so that their child and all children may live with us for Christ, showing forth his love for all people.

Blessed Is the Man |
Jane M. Marshall |
| (Text from Psalm I) |
| Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, |
| nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; |
| but his delight is in the law of the Lord, |
| and on his law he meditates day and night. |
| He is like a tree planted by streams of water. |
