LATE BREAKING ANNOUNCEMENTS
(More announcements are in the monthly newsletter, available in the narthex)

Here is today’s Sunday school schedule:

2-3 year olds  –  Room B-202

Pre-K & K  –  Room B-203

1st graders  –  Creation Corner (B-214)

2nd graders  –  Prophet’s Playhouse (B-210)

3rd graders  –  Making Masterpieces (B-206)

4th graders  –  Good News Games (B-205)

5th graders  –  The Welcome Table (B119/120)

Adult Education today: At 10:45 this morning in room B-210, Cara Townsend, from Family Promise, will present the Just Neighbors session “Housing Matters,” which explores the importance of affordable housing in creating a stable environment for family life. By debating housing issues in a city council meeting, participants examine misperceptions and facts about low-income housing. A video portrays the nation's affordable-housing crisis, which forces families to spend too much of their income on housing or live in substandard housing. The video also demonstrates nonprofit organizations' success in responding to the housing crisis, as well as the importance of government funding.

S.O.S. Campaign: Traditionally, the Sundays of Sharing (SOS) campaign ends on Easter Sunday. To contribute, you can put your contribution into an SOS envelope or into an envelope on which you write “SOS” or, finally, a check in the collection plate with “SOS” on the memo line.

Many of you have already contributed. The Board of World Fellowship thanks you for your generosity, your support, and your confidence. Every contribution helps make the world a better place.

BWF meeting: The Board of World Fellowship will meet on Tuesday, April 14th (the second Tuesday of April) at 7:30 PM at 1 Oak Knoll Road, Summit.

Nicaragua Container Shipment: Your generosity continues to bring hope and joy to children and their families in Nicaragua. Please bring your donations of summer-weight clothing and shoes, sports equipment, and household items to the church parking lot on Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This year we are trying out a new coded labeling system to foil would-be pilferers in the Nicaragua customs house. To support this effort, please bring all donations in plain boxes (i.e., even if it is a brand new item, take it out of its original packing and put it in a nonspecific box), then for each box write the contents on a piece of paper or masking tape and affix it loosely to the box. Jim Burchell, of PeaceWorks, will be removing these loose labels and replacing them with coded labels as the boxes are loaded into the container later that day. Thank you for helping sustain this worthwhile, much-appreciated project! Please call if you have questions: Marilyn Devroye or Dan Ocone.

A Walk in the Garden: On Sunday, April 19 the Reeves-Reed Arboretum will celebrate Daffodil Day. You are invited to join a walking group that will leave Christ Church and walk to the Arboretum after the first service. The Arboretum is planning craft activities, a photo exhibit, face painting, a family scavenger hunt, and woodland tours. Hot dogs, healthy snacks and fruit will be available for sale. The Garden Shop will be open. For those who come on foot or bike, admission is discounted to $2. Children under 3 are free. Regular admission is $3. Please see Marian Glenn for details or call her at 908 273 0968.
