Meditative Reflections

I do not ask to walk smooth paths
      Nor bear an easy load,
I pray for strength and fortitude
      To climb the rock-strewn road.
Give me such courage I can scale
      The hardest peaks alone,
      And transform every stumbling block
      Into a stepping-stone.
      Gail Brook Burket

A man without courage is a knife without an edge.
      Ben Franklin

Lord’s Prayer (“debts/debtors”)
Our Father, who art in heaven,
      Hallowed be Thy name.
      Thy kingdom come,
      Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
      And forgive us our debts
      As we forgive our debtors;
And lead us not into temptation,
      But deliver us from evil,
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,
       and the glory forever. Amen
Invitation to Sharing
Offertory anthem I Lift My Eyes to the Hills (Psalm 121:1-4) Carlyle Sharpe

My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let you foot be moved and he who watches over
you will not fall asleep.
